Kindergarden

So #4 stared school yesterday, she is officially a Kindergartner.  She couldn't sleep Sunday night so yesterday she fell asleep around 6pm and still didn't want to get up at 6:45am this morning.  Poor thing was exhausted.  When she got home she was so excited to show us all her papers from the day.  What she liked the best was recess and didn't like that her teacher was mean.  Let me explain the mean teacher thing because her teacher is very nice.  So first thing after the bell rang Mrs. Ponsness had the kids unpack their backpacks.  #4 had hand sanitizer, tissue and a few things for the class so the teacher took them and put them away.  Then her pencil bag and colored pencil/marker holder (I made them for her out of material she picked out so she loved them) where put in her desk and need to stay at school.  I guess I didn't explain how it all worked so she though her teacher took it all from her and won't give it back.  She kept telling me about how her teacher was mean and wouldn't give her stuff back but I just blew it off because I didn't think it was a big deal.  This morning it all came together.  I told her to put her stuff in her backpack and she didn't want to.  What, if you put it in your backpack it will be so much easer to carry silly girl.  But if I do my teacher will take it and not let me have it.  Thats when the lightbulb came on.  She thinks her teacher took all of her stuff and anything she puts into her backpack her teacher will take.  Poor kid thinks her teacher is going to steal all of her stuff.  So we had a talk and I think she will gain a better understanding as the days go by.  She will understand when its time to color she will get out her bag, use it, put it back into her desk and it will stay there for next time.  Its funny how different each child is because I didn't have this issue with the other 3.  It always amazes me how the same two parents are raising six girls, in the same house yet they are all so very different.  They like different things, react to different things, have different needs, insecurities, etc.

#3 also started school yesterday, she is now a 5th grader.  I tried to take some pictures but I got the rolling eyes and sighing mom.  I did manage to get a few of her and her 3 bffs.  But unlike #4 I didn't get to walk her into her classroom and take pictures of her and her teachers, lol.  She loved changing classes for the first time as she has 3 different teachers.  Also loved that she got to sit with one of her best friends in all of the classes.  I told her as long as they behave and she got all excited.  She has been so helpful with getting #4 up, dressed and fed, Im very grateful.  But I did #4s hair and she was a little bummed that she didn't get to do it.  Maybe further into the year I can let go of the idea #3s hair has to be perfect and let her do it, maybe.  We are off to a good start and the girls enjoyed the first day of school.  Anyway we are so blessed to have not one but six beautiful, health, loving girls and are grateful that He trusted us to raise them.
